Local considerations in Penzance
We cover Penzance and nearby Camborne, Redruth and Falmouth. It's roughly 16 miles from Penzance to Redruth, the largest town in Cornwall. The South West has many stone and solid-walled cottages, exposed coastal properties and a share of post-war system-built houses, including types such as the Cornish Unit.
Parts of Cornwall fall in the higher wind-driven rain exposure bands, especially coastal and upland sites, so render specification, movement joints and detailing at cills, verges and the base of the wall matter more than usual.
Acrylic can suit extensions in Penzance, especially where a stronger colour is wanted.

Approvals in England
For a house in Penzance, external insulation or render is often permitted development if it looks similar to the existing walls; conservation areas, flats, commercial buildings and listed buildings need permission or consent, so we check your address first.
Building control applies once more than half of a wall is insulated or re-rendered, or more than a quarter of the whole building envelope, and your written quote says how that's handled.
Where does acrylic work best?
On extensions, boarded surfaces, new blockwork with a base coat, and sheltered elevations. It's also a common finish on park homes.

Acrylic render in Penzance: questions
Does acrylic render attract dirt?
It can hold dirt slightly more than silicone over time. Occasional gentle cleaning keeps it bright.
Can acrylic render go on a solid stone wall?
It's not our first choice there, because a vapour-open finish is safer on walls that need to breathe.
Can I have a dark colour?
Yes, though very dark shades absorb more heat; the manufacturer's colour guidance is followed.
Do you cover Penzance?
