What we look for in Redditch
We also cover Bromsgrove and Shirley, close to Redditch. Redditch is about 18 miles from Leamington Spa. The West Midlands has large numbers of Victorian and Edwardian terraces, inter-war semis and post-war council estates, including concrete and steel-framed house types.
Much of Warwickshire sits in the lower wind-driven rain exposure bands, which keeps the choice of finishes wide — though hilltop, coastal and exposed gable walls can still need a tougher specification, so we check the actual site.
If your house in Redditch is pebble-dashed, covering the dash is usually simpler than removing it.

Permissions in England
For a house in Redditch, external insulation or render is often permitted development if it looks similar to the existing walls; conservation areas, flats, commercial buildings and listed buildings need permission or consent, so we check your address first.
Insulating or re-rendering more than half of a wall's area brings in Part L of the Building Regulations, so building control is notified and the wall is upgraded to about 0.30 W/m²K where practical.
Can you render over pebble dash?
Yes, if it's well bonded. The surface is cleaned, any loose patches removed and repaired, then a levelling base coat with mesh goes over the stones before the finish. This is cheaper and less disruptive than removing the dash.

Cover pebble dash in Redditch: questions
Can I paint pebble dash instead?
You can, but it doesn't fix hollow areas or cracks, and paint on dash often needs redoing every few years.
Is it cheaper to cover pebble dash or remove it?
Covering is usually cheaper and less disruptive, as long as the dash is sound.
Will the stones show through?
No. A levelling base coat with mesh fills over the stones before the finish goes on.
