Before we quote in Bideford
We also cover Barnstaple and Exeter, close to Bideford. Bideford is about 45 miles from Plymouth. The South West has many stone and solid-walled cottages, exposed coastal properties and a share of post-war system-built houses, including types such as the Cornish Unit.
Parts of Devon fall in the higher wind-driven rain exposure bands, especially coastal and upland sites, so render specification, movement joints and detailing at cills, verges and the base of the wall matter more than usual.
For Bideford homes with faded render, we price a clean and a clean-and-refresh option.

Planning and building control in England
Repairs, cleaning and like-for-like patching don't usually need planning permission or building control. If repairs grow into re-rendering more than half of a wall, Building Regulations energy rules can apply.
How long does cleaned render stay clean?
It depends on shade, trees and exposure. Many walls stay clean for several years after a biocide treatment. North-facing, shaded and damp walls may need treating more often.

Render cleaning in Bideford: questions
Can faded render be refreshed?
Yes — a compatible silicone paint restores colour without making the wall less breathable.
Do you need scaffolding?
Usually not for a two-storey house; poles and low-pressure equipment reach most walls.
Will the green come back?
The biocide slows regrowth considerably, but shaded, damp walls can need retreating every few years.

Yes — we survey and quote render cleaning in Bideford (EX39) and nearby Barnstaple, Exeter and Newton Abbot, with a fixed written price before any work starts.
