What we look for in Nairn
We cover Nairn and nearby Forres, Inverness and Elgin. It's roughly 15 miles from Nairn to Inverness, the largest town in Highland. The Highlands and Islands have many exposed stone and harled homes, timber-framed houses and scattered rural properties.
Parts of Highland fall in the higher wind-driven rain exposure bands, especially coastal and upland sites, so render specification, movement joints and detailing at cills, verges and the base of the wall matter more than usual.
For Nairn homes with faded render, we price a clean and a clean-and-refresh option.

Planning and building control in Scotland
Repairs, cleaning and like-for-like patching don't usually need planning permission. If the work grows into replacing most of a wall's render, we check with the council's building standards or building control team first.
How long does cleaned render stay clean?
It depends on shade, trees and exposure. Many walls stay clean for several years after a biocide treatment. North-facing, shaded and damp walls may need treating more often.
