Local considerations in Nailsea
Surveys in Nailsea also cover the surrounding BS48 district and towns such as Portishead and Clevedon. It's roughly 18 miles from Nailsea to Bath, the largest town in Somerset. The South West has many stone and solid-walled cottages, exposed coastal properties and a share of post-war system-built houses, including types such as the Cornish Unit.
Exposure to wind-driven rain varies across Somerset: sheltered town streets fare better than walls on high ground or facing the prevailing weather, and the render, beads and cill details are chosen with that in mind.
On tree-shaded or north-facing walls in Nailsea, silicone's water repellence helps it stay cleaner for longer.

Approvals in England
Before quoting in Nailsea, we check whether the property is in a conservation area, under an Article 4 direction or listed, because that decides whether changing the outside needs planning permission.
Insulating or re-rendering more than half of a wall's area brings in Part L of the Building Regulations, so building control is notified and the wall is upgraded to about 0.30 W/m²K where practical.
Is silicone render maintenance-free?
Not quite. It stays cleaner than most renders because water runs off and dries quickly, but north-facing or tree-shaded walls can still gather algae. A gentle biocide wash every few years keeps it looking new. Pressure washing is avoided because it can damage the surface.

Silicone render in Nailsea: questions
Can I paint silicone render later?
Yes, with a compatible silicone paint, though through-coloured render rarely needs it.
Does silicone render crack?
The mesh-reinforced base coat and the render's flexibility make cracking much less likely than with sand and cement, but structural movement in the wall can still show through.
Can silicone render go over old render?
If the old render is sound and well bonded, often yes after cleaning and priming. Hollow or cracked areas are cut out and repaired first.
Do you cover Nailsea?
Yes — we survey and quote silicone render in Nailsea (BS48) and nearby Portishead, Clevedon and Kingswood, with a fixed written price before any work starts.
